There is only a 3 to 5 year shelf life on car batteries. You may be caught by surprise by the engine shutting down if you are unfamiliar with the signs that it is running low on energy. By noting the following signs of a need for a replacement, you can avoid frequent towing. If you need a cheap tow, call our dispatch at 206-752-3832

Dimming Headlights

A large amount of power is required to make your car lights shine brightly. Eventually, a weak battery can have trouble producing the necessary current, causing the bulbs to dim. Perhaps it is time to replace your old car battery if you can hardly see it at night. If your battery runs low, you may need to get a jump, which is an advantage of using an emergency towing service

4 IDENTIFIABLE SIGNS YOUR CAR BATTERY IS DYING

Sluggish Engine

You should be able to start the car as soon as you turn the key. A bit of sputtering ahead might indicate too little power being delivered to the engine. It is possible that a faulty starter or damaged alternator is to blame if swapping out the older battery does not resolve the problem.

IS YOUR CAR BATTERY DEAD

Clicking Sounds

Some engines may not be able to ignite the spark when they click audibly when not running. For the vehicle to start, you can jump-start the battery. In the meantime, you will need a towing service if you do not replace the battery.

REASON YOUR CAR BATTERY IS DYING

Visible Corrosion

It is common for batteries to fail due to corrosion. The loosening of the battery casing results in leakage of the internal acid around the terminals. As a result, they develop thick coatings that prevent them from connecting between the engine and battery, resulting in a power drain. Perform an inspection at least once a year to see if this issue is developing.
